Individual Sewage Treatment Systems

Private Septic Systems formall defined as Subsurface Sewage Treatment Systems (SSTS)  are required by ordinance to be inspected and pumped once every 3 years.  This is to comply with State Rules.  The proper management and maintenance of SSTS are important to ensure resource protection and long-term and cost-effective sewage treatment.  In essence, proper septic tank maintenance helps to protect the environment and helps maintain your SSTS investment.  The City has updated is Sewage Tank Maintenance Reporting Form to comply with the requirements of the Minnesota Pollution  Control Agency.  The attachment below is the updated SSTS Pump Maintenance form.

Please have your SSTS maintainer (pumper) use this updated form and return the completed after each pumping to either City Hall front counter or email form to permits@cityofdaytonmn.com
