How to Submit Permits

All permit applications and supplemental information must be submitted to City Hall or Permits may be e-mailed by picking the correct fillable PDF below, and then saving it once complete. Please then attach the filled out application and any supporting documents you may need and email to permits@cityofdaytonmn.com. New single family permits are not accepted by email at this time. Materials may be addressed to Permit Department if mailing the information in.  If you wish to have your permit returned to you via USPS, please provide a self addressed stamped envelope.  Permits may take up to two weeks for approval.  Permits requiring Council approval may take longer. Building Permits

Building permit applications are to be submitted at City Hall.  Applications must be accompanied by two sets of plans and two surveys (surveys are needed if permit is for exterior work).  Metro West Inspection Services is contracted by Dayton to complete building inspections.  Please direct building code questions and inspection requests to Metro West Inspection Services at 763-479-1720.

Water & Sewer Connections

Water and Sewer connections are inspected by the Public Works department.  Below are applications which must be completed and submitted to the City in order to connect to City services.  Please visit the Water and Sewer page under Public Works for more information.

Development Application

Please complete this application for requests related to land use and ordinance amendments.  The application, supporting documents, and fees must be submitted prior to the City taking action on the request.
