Dayton Fire Department Auxiliary

A common misconception is that a fire department’s auxiliary is made of up of firefighter spouses. Not true! A thriving fire department depends on the support of the community it serves. Volunteering with the DFD Auxiliary is a great way for you to serve the Dayton community through the fire department without becoming a firefighter. If you are interested in supporting our firefighters with your time, energy or resources, the DFD Auxiliary is anxious to connect with you!

The DFD Auxiliary volunteers support the fire department in various ways including fundraising, volunteering for events, and supplying victims of emergency calls with blankets and/or Emergency Displacement Kits. If you would like to join the efforts of our DFD Auxiliary, please contact Sheree Mickelson at 612-701-0974 or Kevin Astrup at 763-242-7001.

Mission Statement

The Dayton Fire Department Auxiliary exists to help foster support of the fire department personnel, their families, members of the auxiliary, and the Dayton community.

Donations

Our DFD Auxiliary has non-profit status with the federal government.  All donations given to the fire department through the auxiliary, whether monetary or gifts-in-kind for our silent auction, are tax deductible. All money raised is used to purchase necessary updated life-saving and life-preserving equipment.  We appreciate your support.

The Warm Hearts Club

The Warm Hearts Club is a committee within the DFD Auxiliary.  The Warm Hearts Club supports the community by making and disbursing fleece tie blankets to people in need. Please contact Sheree Mickelson at 612-701-0974 if you would like to give, help make or know someone that would appreciate the gift of a blanket!
