Composting is one of the best opportunities to reduce our trash – about 25 percent what we throw away is organic materials like food scraps and compostable paper that could be put to better use as compost. Composting involves collecting food scraps and non-recyclable paper to be turned into compost in a bin in your yard. This process creates a nutrient-rich material that can be used in gardens and landscaping projects.  Please view the PDF below for resources to promote backyard composting.
